May the blessings of the Triple Gem be with you all!

Have you been feeling… different lately?

Perhaps you’re experiencing strange physical sensations, new emotional depths, or a sense that the world you once knew is revealing a hidden layer. Many people, from young children to those in their middle years, are feeling these shifts. It’s a time of great change, not just in the world, but within ourselves. This article is a message for you, to help you understand that what you might be experiencing are not problems to be solved, but profound spiritual awakening symptoms guiding you toward a deeper purpose.

A Sacred Mission for the Cosmic Messengers: Are You Part of a Great Awakening?

In the Buddhist tradition, we understand that life exists in many realms. Just as the great modern sage, the Venerable Balangoda Ananda Maitreya, was said to have chosen to be born in this world from a celestial realm to serve humanity. many souls are arriving now with a similar, sacred purpose. These are beings from higher spiritual planes, born into our world with a mission to help uplift humanity and protect the Buddha’s teachings. However, upon birth, this mission is often forgotten.

Similarly, other noble beings who accompanied him from the divine realms, such as Anagarika Dharmapala and Colonel Olcott, came to this earth and provided great service to the country, nation, and religion before they passed away. It is because of their dedication and effort that the Sasana of the Supreme Buddha exists today, and we have the opportunity to hear this Dhamma.

Furthermore, it is due to the service of these noble beings that we are able to easily learn the Tripitaka and visit and worship the places of the Buddha’s birth, parinirvana, enlightenment, and where he delivered discourses in Dambadiva (ancient India).

If you are feeling a profound pull towards spirituality or experiencing unusual changes, it may be because you are one of these souls. Your feelings are a gentle knock on the door of your memory, an invitation to recall the sacred task you volunteered for: to cultivate your own inner peace for the benefit of all.

Understanding Present-Day Spiritual Transformations

I’ve mentioned these points first to clarify today’s topic: the transformations happening in the current era. In the introductory post of our Spiritual Monks blog, it was stated that some transformation occurred between 2010 and 2012. Let me explain this transformation.

Just as Ananda Maitreya Maha Nayaka Thero was born into this world, today, from these divine realms (as we know, there are 31 planes of existence: the human realm, 6 divine realms, 20 Brahma realms, and the 4 lower realms), beings are arriving specifically in what is known as our auspicious universe. In addition to this, the Buddha taught in the Tripitaka that there are other universes and worlds consisting of similar 31 planes of existence. By reading sutras like the Ananda Sutta, one can gain a deeper understanding of this.

We have learned that even beings in these other worlds offer alms to the poor, travelers, and beggars there, wishing to be reborn in our auspicious universe to realize Nibbana. Accordingly, on this very earth, there are gods and Brahmas from our own auspicious universe who have come and been reborn from those worlds.

These individuals come having undertaken a special duty. That is to dedicate their lives for the country, nation, and religion, and for the spiritual well-being of people, for Nibbana. It is by undertaking this duty that they are born in the womb of a mother in this human world.

Recognizing the Signs: Common Spiritual Awakening Symptoms

After about five years, some of these children born into a mother’s womb begin to see the unseen world. Others start recalling past lives. Such things happen. Other children say, “Our bodies spontaneously move around, our backs bend, our limbs lift. I am fully conscious, but these kinds of transformations are happening to me.“

Others tell us about physical and mental changes, saying, “My lower back hurts, the center of my forehead hurts, I feel like there’s something in the middle of my forehead, I feel like there’s something in the middle of my head, my head tightens.“

These inner shifts can manifest in very real, sometimes confusing, ways. You are not imagining things. Some common spiritual awakening symptoms include:

  • Unusual Physical Sensations: A tingling or pressure in the forehead (the ‘third eye‘ area), a feeling of energy or warmth at the top of your head, or aches in the lower back as energy pathways open.
  • Involuntary Body Movements: Your body may sway, or your hands might move into specific gestures (mudras) spontaneously during quiet moments, even while you are fully conscious.
  • Heightened Sensitivity: Some begin to see lights or energies invisible to others or even recall memories from past lives.

These are not signs of illness. They are signs that your body and mind are preparing for a higher level of consciousness. This is the universe giving you the energy needed to develop profound states of calm and insight through meditation.

A Path of Caution: Why Your Experience Might Be Misunderstood

There are a large number of people experiencing this throughout society, throughout the world today. This is because they are currently being born. And others will continue to be born in mothers’ wombs in the future. Even though they come from those realms having undertaken duties, after being born in this human world, they forget everything. Nothing is remembered. That is why we are providing this reminder.

When these spiritual awakening symptoms appear, our first instinct might be to seek external help. However, it is a path to walk with great care. If you explain these experiences to someone who doesn’t understand this spiritual context, you might be misunderstood. A doctor may label it a psychological issue, or a spiritual guide unfamiliar with these signs might offer incorrect advice. This can lead to unnecessary worry and confusion.

The message here is not to run to a temple, a monastery, or a clinic right away. The first step is to turn inward. Do not let anyone label you or make you feel flawed. Your experience is valid and sacred. Find a quiet space and learn to listen to what is happening within you with patience and courage.

Through this Spiritual Monks website, we are conducting a series of programs. Through these, we will teach all of you about the universal energy entering your body, or the energy needed to develop Samatha (tranquility) meditation and Vipassana (insight) meditation. You can attain psychic powers, achieve jhanas (meditative absorptions), and gain the five abhiññā (supernormal powers). The energy that enables you to acquire these abilities is what is entering all your bodies.

Turning Inward: How to Nurture Your Awakening at Home

So, what should you do?

The answer is beautifully simple: begin where you are. You do not need to travel to the Himalayas or a remote forest. Your own room can become your sacred space; your own mind can become your sanctuary. The key is to begin a gentle practice of meditation, known in our tradition as Bhāvanā.

Start with practices that cultivate loving-kindness (Mettā Bhāvanā) and calm concentration (Samatha Bhāvanā). These practices help stabilize the powerful energy you are feeling and channel it constructively. Dedicate a small amount of time each day perhaps an hour to quiet sitting, focusing on your breath, and sending good will to yourself and others. This builds the foundation for deeper insight and for developing the higher states of mind, or Dhyānas, that this energy is preparing you for. This journey starts at home, with your own courageous heart.

In addition to meditation, there are other wholesome practices you can cultivate at home to support your spiritual awakening. These include offering alms to the Sangha or those in need, reciting paritta (protective chants), listening to or engaging in Bana (Dhamma talks), and doing acts of merit for the benefit of others. These activities help purify your mind, deepen your connection to the Dhamma, and create a powerful field of blessings around you.

You Are Not ‘Crazy’ – You Are Awakening

As Venerable Rerukane Chandawimala Thero wrote in his books, meditation itself does not cause madness. However, individuals already suffering from severe mental disturbances, obsessions, or psychiatric conditions may experience intensified challenges if they meditate without proper guidance. Therefore, it is essential to approach meditation with wisdom and self-awareness. Those facing such conditions should seek a balanced path with appropriate support and avoid forcing practices before they are ready.

With this understanding, allow yourself to fully step into the transformation that awaits. Embrace this journey. Understand that if you feel these changes, you are a special person who has come into this world with a beautiful purpose. Your task is to patiently and bravely endure these shifts, just as the Bodhisatta Siddhartha did on his path to becoming the Buddha. He endured all his inner experiences with patience and emerged with unshakable wisdom. Trust in your path and know that you are part of a global shift toward a more conscious and compassionate world.

From this space of deep commitment and clarity, affirm your purpose with resolve. Make a firm resolution: “I will dedicate my life for the country, nation, and religion, become spiritually nourished, and fulfill the task that needs to be done by me for this country, for the nation, and for the Dispensation of Gautama Buddha.“

Having made such a resolution, if you are all experiencing these transformations, what you should do from today is engage in devotional practices and meditation. I repeat, engage in Samatha meditation. On our Spiritual Monks blog post, we will teach you how to correctly engage in Samatha meditation, how to quickly achieve its results, and how to attain jhanas.

You can do it from your own home, or if you are a Monk, from your own residence. If there is a place where you feel understood, it’s fine to go there and practice. However, if there is no one who can understand you, you can do all these things from your home, from your room. You do not need to go to the Himalayas. You do not need to go to any forest monastery. There is no need to go anywhere. You can turn your mind into a forest monastery from your own home. I would like to state that you can spiritually and supernormally develop your mind.

Future Vision and Your Role

We have experience in this regard. We meet various people like you. We are providing this message precisely because it needs to be delivered to society. These things are happening because, as we know, like Mr. Arthur C. Clarke and noble beings such as our Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Maha Nayaka Thero, have made predictions about future events. You have returned to this earth specifically for these things.

If you are experiencing these things, if you are feeling these bodily transformations I am speaking of, then begin meditating today. No matter how many duties you have, dedicate about an hour for this.

If your body is experiencing these things, if a child is experiencing these, then parents (whether a mother or a father) listening to this, if your children are feeling these things, you should not take these children to a psychiatrist, a devalaya (shrine), or any other place. Through yourselves, through your spiritual strength, correctly understand these messages through our blog post, and embark on that correct spiritual journey.

You will never encounter any danger when meditating. What we should do is patiently endure what is felt during meditation, just as Prince Siddhartha Bodhisattva patiently endured what he felt in his spiritual life on his journey to enlightenment. Only express these things to a suitable person, to someone in society who can understand you.

Do not attempt to express them to anyone else. As I mentioned before, you will be branded as insane or mentally ill. This could lead to you needlessly seeing a psychiatrist and taking medication or becoming unwell. Therefore, please do not let yourselves get into that situation.

Your Path Forward as a Cosmic Messengers

These experiences are a sign that a great spiritual potential is awakening within you. You are part of a wave of change destined to make this world, and especially the island of Sri Lanka, a beacon of spiritual light. Do not waste your time needlessly by dismissing these points. If you have become aware and gained understanding today, then all of you should commit to this, commit to this process. From today, make a firm resolution: “I will continue doing these things.“

As this global spiritual awakening continues to unfold, the island of Sri Lanka is destined to become a true spiritual city radiating wisdom, compassion, and the teachings of the Supreme Buddha. This transformation will not only benefit those within the country but will also serve as a guiding light to the rest of the world seeking inner peace and truth.

Moreover, gain understanding, and know for certain that if you are someone who feels these things, if you are experiencing the bodily and mental transformations I mentioned earlier, then you are a special individual who has come to this world having undertaken duties, appointed by the gods from the divine realms and Brahma realms. Also, remember that there are other individuals like you on this earth.

We invite you to walk this path with us. Read our teachings, and most importantly, apply them practically in your own life. as you practice, questions will naturally arise. Please feel free to share your experiences and questions in the comments below, via email or contact form. I will do my best to offer guidance in future talks based on your progress. For now, begin this practice with an open heart and a mind free from expectation. Cultivate it correctly, and may you find the clarity and peace you seek.

Thank you for joining us. We hope this blog will be of great benefit to your spiritual journey.

May you all be well and happy.
