Spiritual Monks for a
New Era.
By training our mind, we can learn more about ourselves, the universe and the nature
About Us
From Sri Lanka to the World — Sharing the Path of Mindful Awakening.
The term "Aadhyaathmika," or "Spiritual," signifies the development of our minds. The word "Bhikshun," or "Monks," refers to the community dedicated to this mental cultivation. To elaborate, monks are individuals who have detached themselves from sensual pleasures to diligently follow the path laid out by the Lord Buddha.
From Sri Lanka to the World: A Journey of Spiritual Teachings
The journey of this initiative began before the launch of this website. On June 10, 2021, the monk behind this endeavor started a YouTube channel. For several years now, he has been continuously delivering spiritual discourses in his own voice on this channel. These teachings originate from Sri Lanka and are currently presented in the Sinhala language.
After years of sharing these profound teachings, our next step is to translate these spiritual sermons into English. Our goal is to present them as accessible articles, enabling people around the world to practically engage with these teachings, fostering loving-kindness, compassion, and love in their lives.
Our Purpose: A Journey Rooted in Samatha
Spiritual Monks was created to share real-life experiences with Samatha meditation. While many focus on Vipassana today, our goal is to guide you through the calm and clarity of Samatha, based on both lay and monastic journeys.

Practical Teachings
Our teachings come from direct experience, not theory. As practicing monks and meditators, we offer simple, practical methods to help you grow in your meditation and spiritual understanding.

True Dhamma, True History
We share insights rooted in the Tripitaka and its commentaries to correct misconceptions and preserve the Buddha’s true teachings, free from confusion and distortion.
The true religion is nature
The true religion is nature. The one who learns it practically will discover both the true religion and the true philosophy. That is a universal truth.

Today's Spiritual Offering
From the Teacher
The nature of the mind is to wander — chasing thoughts, clinging to memories, and reacting to emotions. It is not inherently calm, but it longs for peace. True stillness is not forced upon the mind, but gently invited through awareness and compassion. When we patiently observe the mind without judgment, its restlessness begins to settle. In that quiet presence, we discover the mind’s deepest nature — clear, radiant, and profoundly at ease. This is the doorway to inner peace and awakening.
