This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on adhyathmikabhikshun.org and adhyathmikabhikshun.lk, what each one does, and how you can control them. On your first visit we show a banner explaining that we would like to use analytics cookies. Nothing analytics-related runs until you choose. If you select "Accept", we load Google Analytics and it sets the cookies listed in section 3. If you select "Decline", the analytics scripts are never loaded and no analytics cookies are created.
Your answer is stored in a single cookie so we do not have to ask again on every page. You can change it whenever you like through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
3. Cookies we place
3.1 Strictly necessary — no consent required
This cookie makes your own privacy choice work. It cannot be switched off, because without it we would have to show the consent banner on every page.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. These cookies are set by Google only after you accept, and they are not used for advertising.

4. Similar technologies
Some pages play background audio. If you pause it, we record that in your browser's session storage so the site does not start playing again as you move between pages. This is not a cookie, is never sent to our servers, and disappears as soon as you close the tab.

5. Form protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
Pages with a contact, donation or newsletter form load Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than a bot is submitting. It is strictly necessary — without it those forms would be unusable through spam — and it runs only on those pages, never on ordinary articles.
Turnstile may store a short-lived value on your device in order to remember that the check already passed, and Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser user-agent to perform it. It is not used to profile you or to show advertising. Cloudflare describes what it collects in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum. We have not enabled Turnstile's "pre-clearance" feature, so it does not issue Cloudflare's cf_clearance cookie on our sites.
6. Embedded YouTube videos
Some articles include a YouTube video. We embed these through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which means YouTube does not set tracking cookies simply because the page loaded. If you press play, YouTube may then set its own cookies on your device, governed by Google's privacy policy rather than ours. If you would rather avoid that, do not start the video.
7. What we do not use
To be explicit, this website does not use advertising or retargeting cookies, social media tracking pixels, session recording, heatmaps, or cross-site tracking of any kind. We do not sell or share your information with data brokers.
8. Controlling cookies in your browser
Besides our banner, every major browser lets you delete existing cookies, block new ones, or warn you before one is placed. You will find these controls in your browser's settings, usually under "Privacy". Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this or other websites from working properly. If you delete our consent cookie, the banner will simply ask you again on your next visit.
You can also install Google's official browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics across all websites.
9. Your rights over personal data
You have the following rights in relation to personal data we hold:
- to be told why your data is needed, what happens to it, and how long it is kept;
- to access the personal data we hold about you;
- to have your data corrected, completed, deleted or blocked;
- to withdraw a consent you previously gave, and have the resulting data deleted;

- to complain to your national data protection authority about how we handle your data.
