May the blessings of the Triple Gem be with you all!

Welcome. This article is the nineteenth in a series of practical teachings on developing the Third Eye. Today, we will explore a very practical and sensitive topic: the compassionate removal of non-human entities. This teaching is a continuation of our previous discussion on the non-human world, where I promised to share a practical method for addressing these influences.

Before we begin, it is important to approach this topic with the right mindset. These teachings are intended for those with a balanced, neutral perspective. If you have been following our teachings, you may have already cultivated this mindset. If you are new here, I kindly ask you to approach this with an open mind.

For someone who is not balanced in their view, this might sound like nonsense, a joke, or even madness. If that is the case, perhaps this teaching is not for you at this time, and it would be better not to spend your energy on it. However, for the practical spiritual seeker, this knowledge is far from empty; it is a profound tool for providing relief and spiritual protection.

A Lost Art Revived for a Modern World

I must clarify two important points. First, I offer this knowledge with boundless compassion and loving-kindness, known as Metta, for all beings. The method of spiritual protection I am about to describe is not widely practiced or known in the modern world, even among many esteemed lay and monastic teachers who have developed deep states of calm through meditation (Samatha Bhavana). Often, their methods might involve things like chants and talismans.

We are sharing this now because it is a vital skill for those who have awakened their Third Eye. This knowledge existed in past eras, during the times of the ancient Sri Lankan kings in places like Anuradhapura, but it has faded in recent history, especially after periods of foreign invasion. Our intention is to revive this compassionate practice among sincere spiritual people to bring blessings and spiritual protection to Sri Lanka and the entire world.

Empowering You to Become a Source of Help

Secondly, I receive many messages voice notes and calls from people living and working abroad in countries all over the world, from Europe to America, Australia, and Canada, as well as from people here in Sri Lanka. They face issues with non-human presences and ask for my help. I have offered assistance to many, but I am sharing this technique so that you can learn to handle these situations yourselves.

I am teaching you the practical steps, just as I have in our previous sessions. Therefore, I kindly request that you do not overwhelm me with calls for help on this matter. Please, do not make it a burden for me. Instead, develop your meditation practice diligently and apply these methods with confidence. You have the power to provide this spiritual protection for yourself and others.

Solutions for Everyone: Spiritual Protection Without the Third Eye

For those who are experiencing problems with non-human presences but have not yet awakened the Third Eye, we have provided other solutions. In a previous teaching titled “Solutions for Non-Human Problems,” I outlined four practices that can provide immense relief from all kinds of disturbances, including curses and hexes which, yes, exist even in Western countries. Please do not be like the foolish people who dismiss these realities. These practices are for those genuinely suffering. You can engage in these four methods to find relief. For this particular technique, you can focus on three of them:

  • The practice of chanting protective verses (Pirit).
  • The cultivation of loving-kindness (Metta Bhavana).
  • The recitation of specific sections of the Atanatiya Sutta.

These methods are powerful forms of spiritual protection and can be used by anyone, regardless of their level of meditative development. They are offered out of pure compassion to help, never to harm.

The Core Technique: A Guideline for the Fearless Heart

This teaching is a practical guide a technique. I will not be repeating the details about the non-human world, as I have already explained how to perceive it in the 18th teaching of this series. This method is exclusively for those whose Third Eye is already awakened. It allows you to act fearlessly. If you still struggle with fear, I encourage you to explore our teachings on mindfulness and overcoming fear. By doing so, you can become a fearless individual, capable of engaging in this compassionate work.

Before you begin, there is a critical ethical rule: Do not, under any circumstances, use this ability to make money or for the sake of worldly pleasure and possessions. If you do, your spiritual stability will decay, and you risk your Third Eye closing, leading to your spiritual decline. This is a profound responsibility. Please remember this always.

Step-by-Step: How to Compassionately Remove a Disturbance

Let’s begin the practical steps. Imagine a non-human entity is causing a disturbance in your home, affecting a family member your mother, father, sibling, or friend. These beings, which can be called by various names like yakshas (powerful spirits) or pretas (ghosts), are present everywhere in the world. This is not a problem in itself. We only need to intervene when they cause harm or distress. Do not disturb beings who are co-existing peacefully.

Suppose an entity is causing problems: strange noises, a family member eating or drinking in an abnormally excessive way, or other disturbances. You may have spent vast sums of money at shrines or on rituals with no success. For those with an awakened Third Eye, such measures are no longer necessary.

Here is what you do:

Understanding and Using Mind-Made Power (Manomaya Iddhi)

Manomaya Iddhi is a form of psychic ability that can be developed through deep concentration. It is one of ten types of such powers (dasa-vidha iddhi) mentioned in the Abhidhamma, the higher philosophical teachings of the Buddha. For those who wish to understand the theory, you can read the works of the venerable scholar Rerukane Chandawimala Maha Thero, such as ‘Abhidharma Margaya’.

While his books explain what Manomaya Iddhi is, they do not describe this specific application for removing entities. However, reading about it can give a wise and intelligent person a deeper understanding of the potential to create and manifest things with the mind.

With this mind-made power, you can perform actions with your astral or mental body. Think of it like casting a net, but one made of pure thought and intention. You use your mind to create a field of energy perhaps imagining a net of light or a circle of compassionate fire to gently contain the entity. Again, I must repeat: never use this for harmful or selfish purposes, like controlling people, seeking fame, or making money. Such actions will inevitably lead to your spiritual ruin.

From Conscious Effort to Effortless Skill

Sometimes, an entity might try to flee when you begin. In that case, capture what you can and compassionately relocate it. Then, when the escaped entity returns, you can contain it as well. Your initial actions are powered by your determination (adhiṭṭhāna).

With practice, this process becomes effortless. You will reach a point where you no longer need to consciously go through the steps or make a formal resolution. As we discussed in the meditation on the Ruwanwelisaya stupa, the action becomes automatic. Just as you think of the stupa and your mind goes there, you will be able to simply think of containing the entity with a mental creation, and it will be done. The power flows naturally and spontaneously from your cultivated mind.

I encourage you to try this method. You can achieve definite results. Feel free to share your experiences so that others may learn and understand.

A Final Word: The Path of Non-Attachment

Before I conclude, a word for those who are new to these teachings. While you are listening with a neutral mind, which is good, please do not start meditating with the desire to gain these powers. Do not crave them or hold expectations. If you do, you will never attain them. I have spoken about this in many other teachings. True spiritual abilities arise as a natural result of purifying the mind, not from wanting them.

Please act with this understanding. I bless you with the strength of the Triple Gem the Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha to wisely understand and use the knowledge of Manomaya Iddhi. May you study and reflect on these principles with wisdom. May you be blessed with the intelligence and insight to help others, and may you gain the ability and blessings to be a refuge for many.
