May the blessings of the Triple Gem be with you all!

Today, we continue our exploration based on a question we began discussing a few weeks ago: what truly happens when we practice these meditations?

In our previous teaching, I offered a simple overview of the benefits of meditation. I know that many of you already understand that as we continue our practice, we experience significant improvements in both our mental and physical health.

The practical meditation programs we engage in, such as the ‘Third Eye‘ and ‘Journey to the Brahma Worlds‘ workshops, are all designed to cultivate the mind. We are learning to develop our minds, to elevate them to a state of higher consciousness, and to foster positive thinking patterns and mindfulness.

For those of you who have been on this journey with our ‘Adhyatmika Bhikshun’ (Spiritual Monks) teachings for some time, you know we are committed to this path. The first thing I want to emphasize is that as you continue this practice, the results you gain will multiply. Let’s begin by exploring some of these profound benefits of meditation.

The Hidden Benefits of Meditation Finding Happiness 247 Practical Meditation Part 02 – What Really Happens When We Meditate An Introduction

The Science of Healing: Physical and Mental Well-being Through Meditation

One of the most immediate and well-documented benefits of meditation relates to our physical health. I have often researched this, even recently on Google, and have mentioned publications like ‘Mindful’ magazine before. These resources highlight discoveries made by Western scientists and researchers about what happens when we develop our minds through meditation. They have found that meditating consistently, even for just 20 minutes a day for eight weeks, yields remarkable results.

Their studies confirm that such practice can lead to:

  • The disappearance of chronic illnesses.
  • A reduction in mental pressures and stress.
  • The alleviation of conditions like anxiety.

Essentially, the stress that we carry within us begins to dissolve. We have seen instances where diseases like cancer have gone into remission due to a positive mental state cultivated through practice. The mind’s development has a powerful, natural effect on the body, leading to these transformative changes. We also see remarkable progress in children with developmental weaknesses. As we practically engage with meditation. whether it’s developing states of deep absorption known as Jhāna, awakening energy systems like Kundalini, practicing insight meditation (Vipassanā), or walking the path to liberation (Nibbāna), our brains physically change.

Medical science and Western researchers have discovered that our neural pathways open up in new ways. Those of us in the East have known this for ages. Sages and dedicated meditators in the East have always understood this connection. This is why people in the East tend to suffer from fewer serious diseases. We must grasp these tangible health benefits of meditation. This practice is suitable for everyone, regardless of age, so I encourage you to continue with this understanding and reap these rewards.

Beyond the Physical: Understanding Psychic Abilities (Iddhi) and Mind Power

Now, let’s address a topic that many find challenging: the science of psychic powers, known as Iddhi Vidya. Many people question how it’s possible to lift the physical body. Yet, if we look at our scriptures, the Tipiṭaka, its commentaries, and our history, we find accounts of Arahants (fully enlightened beings) who could travel through the air.

This ability was not limited to Arahants alone; there were also practitioners who attained deep meditative states (Jhāna) and acquired these powers. It’s important to distinguish this from final liberation, or Nibbāna. The supernormal knowledges (Abhiññā) that come with an Arahant’s full enlightenment are different from the powers of a master of Jhāna. A Jhāna-attainer may not have realized Nibbāna but can still possess the five mundane supernormal powers (Pañca Abhiññā), including psychic abilities. We have read about this in books, heard it in Dhamma talks, and it is part of our history.

Today, people challenge this, asking, ‘Where are these people flying through the air?‘ They dismiss it. But I say to you directly: it is absolutely possible to lift this physical body. Consider the power of the mind (citta shakti). Look at what humans have created by developing the mind, even while it is still filled with defilements. They have built towering skyscrapers, advanced technology, and complex vehicles. If a mind, while still impure, can achieve all this, imagine what a mind can do when it is being purified, and defilements are being suppressed or eliminated. For such a person, lifting the physical body is not a challenge.

The methods I teach are designed to develop the mind to a level were lifting the body by a foot or two becomes possible. The stories we’ve heard since the time of the Buddha are true. These are things that can be achieved by mastering the power of the mind. The Buddha himself said that there is nothing a person who has developed their mind cannot do. This is the truth we must understand. The practices we engage in like Kundalini meditation, the ‘Third Eye’ program, and the ‘Journey to the Brahma Worlds’ are all paths to acquiring these profound benefits of meditation, including the potential for such abilities.

The Power of Guided Practice: How Awakened Energy Can Help You

To aid your practice, I have also provided guided meditations in my own voice. These are designed to help you focus your mind more easily. This is particularly effective because, as my seven chakras are awakened, my energies are activated and transmitted through my voice.

This is why many of you find that your mind becomes focused, or you see signs of light, just by listening to my talks. This is a result of my spiritual energies and the level of mental concentration I have cultivated being shared with you. The guided meditation was created based on this principle. Through the activation of the chakras, deep concentration from tranquility meditation (Samatha), the awakening of Kundalini energy, and the channeling of universal cosmic energies, I have offered this tool to you. This is the way you can progress toward developing the full range of abilities, including Iddhi.

Finding Your Voice: Developing Confidence and a Powerful Personality

A very common issue I hear about, especially from younger people, is a lack of confidence in public speaking. They tell me they are unable to speak in front of a meeting or a group of people. I want you to know that I was once in the same position. I used to be afraid to speak; I would tremble in front of an audience. This is a common experience for people of all ages, and it persists until we train ourselves to overcome it.

I can tell you now that through the benefits of meditation, your public speaking skills will develop. The fear of speaking will vanish. Once you practice and face that fear, it disappears completely, and your ability grows. You will reach a point where, after courageously facing the situation once, you will start to feel a natural ease and even a desire to do it again. You gain the ability to face these situations fearlessly and move forward.

This applies to everyone, from children to adults, who struggle with this fear. The key is to develop your meditation practice. Why does this happen? As you meditate, you build a strong sense of personality and presence, or what we call paurushaya. As this inner strength grows, your meditation deepens. With a strong personality, you can walk into any situation with ease and speak confidently in front of thousands, free from fear.

This ability comes from understanding the mind through the meditation techniques we teach. You have practiced different ways of thinking and have cultivated deeper mental states, exploring Jhāna, Abhiññā, and higher mental faculties. All the cosmic energies begin to work through you, and this powerful personality emerges. This is another one of the incredible benefits of meditation we must remember.

Peak Performance: Enhancing Skills in Sports, Science, and the Arts

These benefits of meditation extend to every field of life. Let’s consider a young person involved in sports. As they meditate, various processes are optimized within their body. The neural pathways in the brain related to physical activity develop. This allows them to outperform even other highly skilled athletes and achieve victory. They develop a strong personality to face the competition and carry themselves forward. This is a direct result of our meditation practice.

But it’s not just sports. Think of those studying astronomy or involved in space exploration. These are not just for the young; as I said, there are no age limits. For those who explore the cosmos, these higher mental abilities can lead to new discoveries about space and other celestial bodies. It can inspire new inventions. People working in organizations like NASA can gain these enhanced abilities. Similarly, the practice benefits those in engineering, medicine, the arts, and even the security forces. The mind, sharpened by meditation, becomes a powerful tool in any discipline, showcasing the wide-ranging worldly benefits of meditation.

Expanding Consciousness: Cosmic Connections and Telepathic Communication

Furthermore, the practice can even grant the ability to interact with extraterrestrial beings. You can develop the capacity to connect with them mind-to-mind, what some call telepathy. You can communicate with them directly. In our current era, we would need advanced technology to translate their languages. But when you develop your mind to this level, the translation happens automatically and effortlessly. You understand what they are saying, and they understand you. Language is no longer a barrier; whatever language they speak, your mind is developed to a point where it can comprehend it. I will explain more about these things in the future; this is just a brief introduction. It becomes possible to maintain such connections.

The Buddha himself spoke about the existence of other worlds and beings, for instance in the Ānanda Sutta. There are other teachings you can read on this topic. The Buddha taught that many other world systems exist. So, the ability to form these connections is another potential outcome of this practice.

Forging Integrity: Overcoming Addiction and Making Unshakeable Decisions

For those who are struggling, especially young people, these practical meditations offer a way to escape from things like drug addiction. They can gradually reduce their dependency, break free, and live a life of freedom, developing their minds to new levels. This is a tremendous set of abilities that becomes available. When someone escapes addiction, they gain the power to change their life. This is not just for the young, but for anyone.

Another powerful result is the ability to make clear, direct decisions. A strong personality emerges, and you can make firm choices in any situation. ‘Yes‘ means yes, and ‘no‘ means no. ‘I will‘ means I will. You gain the ability to make straightforward decisions. This is a huge asset, and something that is largely missing in the world today.

This reminds me of what I mentioned in a previous teaching about our country’s 70-year political history. This is what is lacking! You must have the personality to say something is wrong, even if it’s the king who is doing it. You need to be able to speak directly. And you need the personality to speak the truth correctly. You must be able to speak the truth even if it costs you your life. However, if speaking the truth in a certain moment would lead to disaster, you develop the wisdom to remain silent and address the issue later in a more constructive way. This ability to act with situational wisdom, or sthānocita prajñā, is one of the key benefits of meditation. You learn to make direct decisions and act on them.

The Power of One: Cultivating Self-Reliance and True Leadership

This practice also fosters incredible self-reliance. Sometimes, young women or children feel they cannot do things alone. However, I recently received many messages on our WhatsApp number from students in our programs. Some of them said they used to have no physical strength, but now they feel a new energy and have developed the personality to handle their work independently. They can go anywhere and get things done. They can make direct decisions and act on them. This is happening because of the practice.

What is the core of all this?

Through these methods, we are developing the mind, the citta shakti. We are changing our mentality and learning to think from new perspectives. I am teaching you how to stand up on your own, without depending on others. This is what is truly happening, and it is what must happen for you. It is through this inner strength that we can serve our country, our people, our religion, this world, and the entire universe. I am a person like that, one who stands up alone and works directly. That is why I am able to continue this series of programs. My team members assist me with their support, but everything I teach you comes from my primary energy and strength. By building myself up, my team is also uplifted. In the same way, we all gain the ability to make firm decisions and act directly.

The Moral Compass: Standing Against Injustice with Wisdom and Courage

As you progress, you will find you cannot stand injustice. You develop a deep aversion to it. We strive to live righteously. This quality arises naturally as a result of meditation. However, we don’t get entangled by attaching to or reacting against these feelings. If we are in a position to speak out against an injustice, we do so. We gain that much strength. I am the same way; I cannot bear injustice. Yet, there are times when I must remain silent because speaking out could cause a great disaster. And there are other times when I will speak out against injustice even if it costs me my head. That is the kind of personality that develops.

It doesn’t matter if the other person is rich, the president, the prime minister, a politician, or some high-ranking official in this country or the world. Rich or poor, white or black, these distinctions become irrelevant. You can call out what is wrong and affirm what is right. You can speak the truth even if the injustice is committed by your own parents or children. This quality of being unable to tolerate injustice arises within you.

You also cultivate a deep sense of impartiality. You become very balanced, making wise decisions based on the situation, using that sthānocita prajñā, or situational wisdom. This ability to make balanced judgments is an outstanding benefit of meditation, developed over time. This is how it should be.

Navigating the Path: Overcoming Obstacles and Critics with Fearlessness

Of course, as we progress, obstacles will appear. I have seen comments recently, even in our own youtube comments section. There are certain lay teachers, self-proclaimed gurus, who do not like that I am sharing these teachings publicly and openly, without holding anything back, without a ‘teacher’s fist’ (guru mushtiya). I saw long, newspaper-like comments, impossible to read, posted repeatedly.

What is their intention?

They want to instill fear in you. They post comments like, ‘You must be under a teacher,‘ or ‘You will only see results in seven or eight years,‘ to frighten you and stop your practice. When I look at their own channels, they have no subscribers, no viewers, and people comment that their teachings are incomprehensible. This is a form of Māra, an obstacle, that comes to break your mental fortitude and discourage you from the fearless path I am teaching without reservation.

These individuals often don’t want these teachings to be shared, and many of them don’t even know the things I am teaching you. But they will try their best to sabotage this work. I have received several such messages, but I am not afraid. I have a strong personality and will not be scared by these things. I teach you all of this fearlessly. If there is something I must do for this country, its people, and its religion, as I’ve mentioned before, I will do it without fear. I have a vast unseen support system, both known and unknown beings on a global scale, who are doing their utmost for spirituality. I also have a large team of visible helpers who support this work with their ideas and suggestions for all of you. We are all doing this as the greatest service we can offer.

So, just as I continue my work without paying attention to these obstacles, you too must continue your meditation practice, again and again. As you do, I will teach you more, helping you face things fearlessly, removing your fear, and explaining the different sensations and insights that arise in meditation. I will guide you so you can be of service to our country, our people, and our religion.
