Categories: Third Eye: Practical Meditation
May the blessings of the Triple Gem be with you all!
Welcome. Many of you are on a profound journey of spiritual exploration. Some are practicing Third Eye meditation, perhaps beginning to perceive light signals or a gentle pressure between the eyebrows.
Others may have already awakened this inner sight, either through our guidance or with a teacher. And some are still in the early stages, feeling the subtle sensations at the center of the forehead. This teaching is for every one of you.
Today, we will delve into a special practice: how to witness the phenomenon known as the Divine-Human Nature. Whether your Third Eye is already open or you are on the path to awakening it, this article will offer a practical method to explore a deep spiritual reality.

A Necessary Prelude: Openness and Lost Histories
Before we begin this practical exploration, there are a few important points to understand. First, if you are new to these practices, approach this teaching with a balanced and open mind. In Buddhism, this is called Upekkha, or equanimity. Simply observe without judgment.
Second, you will not find the specific details of this teaching in modern history books. This is a practical, experiential truth. While we have deeply researched historical and archaeological records, these concepts are often absent from the texts available today.
There’s a reason for this. As you know, our island of Sri Lanka endured many foreign invasions. During those times, countless ancient texts, our books of profound wisdom, were taken.
The advanced knowledge within them was absorbed and adapted by other nations, forming the basis of some of their modern advancements. Though it is a difficult truth, our country was plundered of its wisdom.
Therefore, searching for this in contemporary books may be fruitless. The knowledge I am sharing may very well have been in those lost texts. So, let us approach this not through books, but through direct experience.

Understanding the Conditions to Perceive the Divine-Human Nature
The teaching today centers on what we call the Divine-Human Nature, a concept that has roots stretching back to the ancient Ravana era of Sri Lanka. This is a profound phenomenon, and the ability to perceive it through the Third Eye depends on a few conditions.
- Firstly, one’s past actions are relevant. For example, if a person in a past life had acted as a traitor during that ancient era, they might be unable to witness these truths.
- Secondly, the universe itself may place a veil or a block on certain knowledge if it is not the right time for it to be revealed.
- Thirdly, your own spiritual capacity has a natural limit at any given time, which may prevent you from seeing such a deep reality.
If you are free from these three conditions and your Third Eye is awakened, and especially if you have a karmic connection to these ancient times, you have the potential to witness the things we will discuss. Let’s understand these points as we prepare to look.

The Practical Meditation: Setting Your Spiritual Intention (Adhitthana)
As we have discussed in previous teachings, those with an awakened Third Eye know how to begin a meditation and focus their intention. I will not repeat the basic steps here. Once you are settled in your meditative posture, you can form a powerful, focused intention. This is known in Buddhism as Adhitthana, a spiritual resolve.
Repeat this resolve in your mind two or three times:
“What is this Divine-Human Nature? Through my Third Eye, through my wisdom, through my intuitive knowledge, through the power of my wholesome and unwholesome deeds throughout my cycle of rebirths, and through the strength of my meditative practice, may I be able to see and understand the nature of the Divine-Human. May it be revealed to me.”
After making this firm resolution, observe what happens. See if the ability to perceive this vision arises within you.

The Vision Unfolds: A Celestial Soul’s Journey to Earth
As you hold your intention, a vision may begin to form. You may see a special being from a higher realm, a celestial world (Deva Loka) or a Brahma world (Brahma Loka), descending to be born on the island of Sri Lanka. You will see this being born as a human and grow up. This is a key aspect of the Divine-Human Nature.
These are not ordinary individuals. They are born to protect their nation, culture, and spiritual tradition. Think of great figures from our history, like King Dutugemunu, who is destined to become one of the chief disciples of the future Maitreyan Buddha. These stories can be found in texts like the Saddharmarathnakaraya. Even the Bodhisatta, who would become Siddhartha Gautama the Buddha, came from the Tuite heaven at the request of the gods.
In the famous text, the Melinda Panna (The Questions of King Milind), the great enlightened monk Nagasena was invited from a Brahma world to answer the king’s questions. If anyone dismisses these things as fantasy or lies, I invite them to read these texts. To deny them after reading is to choose ignorance, for which there is no remedy.
So, what you may witness is this: a powerful celestial being arriving on Earth to begin a human life for a great purpose.

The Sacred Ritual: The Herbal Trough and the Astral Journey
As the vision continues, you will see this person reach a certain age, perhaps 25, 30, or 40 years old. They are strong and have a distinct spiritual side to their life, although it may not yet be fully developed. Now, the vision of the Divine-Human Nature becomes very specific.
You may see this individual being surrounded and guided by a community of spiritually advanced beings. These could be monks, or they could be great sages, known as Rishis or ascetics. These are his teachers and protectors. At a certain point, these sages will lead him to a specific place and perform a ritual.
You will see him being laid down in what is called a beheth oruwa (medicinal trough), a kind of medicinal or herbal trough, almost like a sarcophagus.
They place him in a deep, sleep-like state. As his physical body rests in the trough, treated with sacred herbs by the sages, you will witness his subtle body, what some call the astral body, or in our tradition, the Manomaya Kaya (mind-made body), separate from the physical form.

Reconnecting with the Divine Past: Reclaiming Celestial Power and Wisdom
Once free, this mind-made body travels back to its original home, the celestial or Brahma realm where it existed in its previous life. There, you will see something remarkable through your Third Eye. The being begins to remember everything. All the powers, the strengths, the profound wisdom, and all the abilities it possessed in that divine existence are recalled, one by one. You will witness this process of remembering and reclaiming its inherent power.
This entire journey and reintegration, which takes a full week in Earth time, happens in just a few seconds of celestial time, because the lifespan and perception of time are vastly different in those realms. During this week, the physical body is kept safe. It is nourished by a single drop of divine nectar, or Amrita, placed on the tongue by the gods.
This tiny amount is so potent that it is all the body needs to survive. The body is also protected by the sages and watched over by powerful celestial beings, the Devas and Brahmas, whose protective presence you may also perceive.
The Return: Awakening as a Being of Power and Purpose
After one week, the soul, now fully infused with its reclaimed celestial power and wisdom, returns to the physical body. The person awakens transformed, a highly capable, wise, and powerful being, now fully prepared to carry out their great destiny. This entire process is the essence of what is called the Divine-Human Nature.
This is a practical, spiritual technology from our ancient past, used during the eras of great kings like Ravana, Parakramabahu, Dutugemunu, and Valagamba. This is the truth you can witness when you resolve to see it. It is not something limited only to future kings. It can also happen to those destined to work alongside such leaders, individuals who are crucial for the protection of the nation and its spiritual heritage.

Your Invitation to Witness the Divine-Human Nature
Now, it is your turn to look. Use the method of intention (Adhitthana) and see what is revealed to you. As you watch, other questions may arise in your mind. Continue to use your resolve to seek answers for them. If, however, a vision is blocked or veiled, do not be discouraged. Understand that there may be a universal reason why that knowledge is not meant for you at this time.
Remember, this process of the Divine-Human Nature is not for everyone. It happens only to the most exceptional souls with a supreme destiny to serve. It has happened in the past, it could be happening now, and it will happen in the future. We cannot say exactly when or where, only that it is reserved for these special figures.
If you have been curious about the purpose of a ‘medicinal trough‘ in our ancient stories, this is one of its profound uses. There are many more secrets our Hela ancestors knew. If there is a need, perhaps we can explore them in the future. For now, try to witness this, and understand it through your own experience.
